60 Hour Grammar Component Course
Mabuhay and welcome! This 60 hour component course has been designed to focus on specific technical aspects of English grammar that a teacher may benefit from in order to effectively teach the subject to high school or advanced students, or in order to act as a mentor for other teaching colleagues.
The course examines word classes, syntax, spelling and punctuation, verb types, verb tenses and conjugations.
The course is comprised of 9 modules. At the end of each module is a test, and at the end of the course is a final assessment consisting of a full course test and a written essay assignment.
An overall score of 80% is required to pass the course. Students should take it at their own speed and make notes as they progress to help the content stick in their memory and as an aid for reviews before module assessments.
The written essay assignment need to be submitted for marking and all tests and assessments contribute to the overall grade. Graded certification is provided only following successful completion of the course. Certification is verified for employers and other institutions via the verification portal on our website.
By the end of this course, you will know how to:
- Identify and understand the various rules in grammar and usage (such as subject-verb agreement)
- Identify and correct the frequent errors associated with grammar.
- Identify and understand the various rules in the mechanics of a sentence (such as punctuation and capitalization guidelines)
- Identify and correct the frequent errors associated with the mechanics of a sentence writing
- Identify and correct frequent spelling errors
- Identify and understand the various rules in diction.
